Leading legal professionals in Cyprus answering the most frequently asked inquiries relating to daily life submit-Brexit and all of the variations and …
Wonderful video. Charlotte, is there an e-mail I can get in contact with you please? (it has to do with my interest in work). Thank-you so much in advance.
Looking at Living in Cyprus in the future and category F status is what I think suits me best. I went from having no hope of living in Cyprus after Brexit to at least some way forward. Thanks for the video a little bit clearer now.
As a non British, non Cypriot, and just a foreigner that's not European, would I be able to take mortgage from a bank in Cyprus to pay for an apartment in Cyprus so that I can move there and get my residency after a year of being there? Can I pay 30% of the apartment value and then pay the rest over the next couple of years?
Just don't think it is so easy to get citizenship in Cyprus if you were not born there or are of Cypriot descent, you will need a resident's permit which you will need to renew in person every year for a period of 5 years. Marrying a Cypriot does not exempt you from this. Unless things have changed this is not a pleasant experience. If you have Cypriot heritage however the process takes only 2 months from start to finish and is much, much cheaper. Also there is a difference between which government department you will need to go to, migration for people of Cypriot origin and immigration for everyone else. You need a lot of patience and you should find out before hand about requirements (what ID etc you need) otherwise you will be going backwards and forwards like a yoyo..and you will still be going backwards and forwards because one person will ask you for one set of documents and another person from the same department will tell you that you have brought the wrong documents and you should bring something else. Not trying to put anyone off but if you don't speak the language you better take someone who does with you. I have been through this for myself and someone of no Cypriot origin and it was a nightmare in the case of the latter and also a lot more expensive. Initial application cost something like €330, annual resident permits etc. Passport alone for a non national costs over €500 euros, if I factor everything else in must over €1000 or more and that's doing everything yourself. And you will need an ID card before you can get a passport, thats not so expensive..oh and I forgot to mention never let anyone hold on to important documents, you can show original documents but my advice is to only allow officials to keep copies, if you hand over passports etc there is a pretty high chance it will be lost!😀 All of the above may not be 100% accurate as things change but I still think a lot of the above might still apply, fast track maybe possible but I think only if you are investing a large sum of money. If you can't be bothered with bureaucracy your coming to the wrong place! lol
I highly recommend not to invest in Cyprus. I am selling my apartment in Cyprus and for many reasons, do not adivse to buy there, the lawyers also being one of the reasons. i live in Spain now and much more welcoming on many points of views.

When buying a property in Cyprus over the value of 300,000 is residency granted for me and my wife (as it would be for both of us)?
