  1. Start familiarizing yourselves with that friendly, 500-page Spain residency application, which is available only in Spanish, since English is no longer an EU-language. Also, submit your A-level Spanish as a Foreign Language Certificate. That's the first step towards integration into Spanish society. You surely want to be productive, well-integrated members of your new country, right? :)))

  2. It´s the best thing that can happen to the Brits, Spain is a banana republic, don´t bother. Most expats have been trying to sell their properties for 10 years. This country is on it´s arse!

  3. Brexit doesn’t crush this. Spanish authorities, their rules along with Spanish bitterness and Brits with illegal building permissions has. Imagine the UK treating Spanish citizens like the Spanish have treated UK citizens in Spain. I would leave Spain and return to the UK if I were treated like that.

  4. The long established EU Law gives you up to 180 days in another country before applying for settled status, (tax, health, etc). It is and always has been applicable to ALL citizens in the EU. The same applies to driving a self owned car.
What you cannot do is have settled status in more than one country.
So what gives whining expats the idea that in all the years they have spent i.e. in spain, they dont or hav'nt to comply with the rules applicable to the rest of europe?
You choose your bed and lay in it.

  5. The concept of countries is as outworn as the idea that the earth is flat:
"The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens", Baha'u'llah revealed more than one hundred years ago.

  6. Why does some people who pack up to live permanently abroad just assume that they still will automatically have the benefits at the expense of UK tax payers.its called Greed

  7. English person living in Spain = Expat. Spanish person living in UK = Immigrant, can someone explain this to me please. Also, no matter who reports on this, they always make out that the Spanish are making up new rules to hinder the poor expats (who voted to be out of the European Community). These rules have been around for ages (well before Brexit), most of which the UK had a hand in making, now that they are no longer exempt from them, its blamed on the countries that uphold these laws. My parent immigrated to the UK many years ago, they had to follow their rules and regulation to do so, unfortunately, now it the the turn of the UK nationals wanting to retire/live in Europe, not out of spite, but out of choice, their choice, not ours.

  8. I lived in Spain for 18 months in 2005. Brits were regularly stopped by the police if they were driving British cars. After checking all documents were in order, the warning was; get your plates/car registered in Spanish as soon as possible. I eventually bought a Spanish vehicle but most of the Brits that I met, simply ignored the police's requests. Until their car was impounded maybe a year later!

  9. Make America great again! Reinstate DT and reclaim America 🇺🇸 America first and fight for Texas, Florida and Idaho independence 👍👍👍👍
